Therefore, a covenant of peace was established with Phinehas, that he should preside over the holy places and over his people, so that he and his descendants might have the splendor of the priesthood forever.
He wrought wonders upon them, and consumed them with a flame of fire.
And so the Lord made a covenant with him, valid for all time to come, that he should be in charge of the sanctuary and of his people, that he and his descendants should hold the office of High Priest forever.
Therefore, on him also God conferred the right, in a covenant of friendship, to provide for the sanctuary, So that he and his descendants should possess the high priesthood forever.
Therefore, a covenant of friendship was established with him, conferring on him the right to be in charge of the sanctuary and of the people, so that he and his descendants should have the dignity of the high priesthood forever.
